What is the Big Picture Wall?
The concept of the Big Picture Wall is very simple. We are in trouble and we need your help! The Wall
provides a way in which all you fans of Motorcycling can contribute to helping us save this great facility
here at McAdam Park, Barrabool, near Geelong.
The Wall is a picture mosaic of 10,000 ceramic tiles available for supporters to sponsor. It will be built
at the track, to stand forevermore as a monument to all who helped save this wonderful facility! Your name will
be etched into your tile for all to see.
One day you will be able to experience the pride of seeing your name up there amongst all the others who
believed in us and supported us.
We CAN, and WILL do it! Names on the Wall means we WILL Save Barrabool, simple! Wouldn't you feel
disappointed if we fail to secure the land and you hadn't tried? The negative can happen you know, if
motorcycle fans (isn't that you?) hold back it WILL cause the demise of McAdam Park, gone forever! Sad,
but true.
Enough of the negative stuff, that's just to make you think, let's get on with the positive!
As the Wall fills, you can see it filling in like a jigsaw puzzle on the main screen. We want to sell all
those tiles, as that will bring in approximately $1.5 million dollars! We do actually need more than that,
but that will give us the buying power we need to secure our future!
It's simple, we need names on the Wall, and now! Think of it as a petition, the more names we get, the more
backup we have in chasing government support and industry support to raise the rest of the money we need.
C'mon everyone! There's tens of thousands of fans out there who will be worse off if Barrabool goes!
Whether you ride or come watch at some of our National events like Oceania MX Championships, Australian
Motorcycling will be worse off without Barrabool, we will never get another place like it! Please, give
just this once, for all our sakes.
Future Vision
|
The Sporting Motor Cycle Club is pleased to advise that our web pages are currently being updated to
bring them in line with our new and revised plans for the venue. These new and revised plans are
considerably different to the vision we had previously shown on this website.
These revised plans will incorporate the advice and feedback that we have received from many sources
including:
- our members
- our neighbours
- other users of our venue including family and friends who have visited the venue
- professional planners
- sound consultants
-
- local government
Please note we are still currently completing this very significant task and it might not be concluded
for several weeks.
We look forward to publishing these details as soon as possible.
