It's easy! Our new refurbished Big Picture Wall website now makes it a lot easier to sponsor us! All you have to do is choose which tiles you want on the Wall, click on them and follow through with the shopping cart transaction.

PLEDGING TO HELP SAVE BARRABOOL (Over $550 only. $50 deposit)

Pledge now, pay later! Here you can pledge your intention to help Save Barrabool track, but pay later when we actually need the money to buy the land. No need to pay before.

Don't hedge, just pledge! The biggest and most effective way to help to us is to get names on the Wall! Names on the Wall means buying power for the club! This option is for the many people whom we know want to help, but would prefer to pay when needed; when we actually buy the land! You still get your name and wellwish on the Website Wall, and on the sponsor lists!

You must be committed to spending. This is a binding agreement.
Pledge tiles are different to standard tiles. Pledge tiles DO NOT get the benefits of a free membership, or gold pass medallion lifetime entry UNTIL the full amount is paid. At that time all benefits are converted over to standard tile status.
You will get your tiles on the real Wall at the track, the same as all other sponsors.

BUSINESS; If you are a business pledging to tiles, simply place your company name on the tile for now, so you will still get some exposure now, even before we ask for the total money payable when we buy the land. People will still see your tile on the Wall when exploring the Wall and the sponsor lists, just like standard tiles. The extra corporate advertising benefits will not take affect UNTIL the full amount is paid! At that time all benefits are converted over to business tile status. You then have the same status and benefits as all other tiles.

Pledges must total more than $550 (inc. G.S.T.). A $50 deposit is payable, upon receipt of deposit your tiles will be posted up on the Wall. Deposits are non refundable.
After being fully paid, every tile spend of $550 (inc. G.S.T.) gets a 1 year membership to S.M.C.C. Every $1100 (inc. G.S.T.) gets a Gold Medallion Lifetime Pass to all S.M.C.C. events, e.g. Oceania MX Championships. As an example, a spend of $2200 gets you 2 Gold Medallions (interchangeable with friends), and 4 club annual memberships.

Please note: Pledged tiles automatically convert to double the price when you choose the pledge option. This makes it easier for you purchasing, and easier for our record keeping. We figure anyone seriously wanting to help us save this great facility isn't too fussed how many tiles they get, they just want to help. Also, many business will want to help and business tiles are also double the standard rate. You will get special recognition on the list of people pledging to help Save Barrabool.

Example; for a $550 spend, choose 2 tiles @ $125 value as you would a normal tile, proceed to checkout. Here click the PLEDGE option which will now be enabled. By clicking the pledge button, the prices will automatically be doubled, and have G.S.T. added. So your 2 tiles @ $125 will convert to; 2 x $250 = $500 + $50 = $550. Fill out all your details, click either pay button, then you will then be asked to pay your $50 deposit. The $500 owing will be payable when we need the money to buy the land.

If you would like to spend a little more on tiles, then we would like to give you something more in return!

For $550; If you spend a minimum of $550 incl. GST then you will receive a bonus 1 year annual membership of SMCC. Membership can be either Junior, Adult or Family, and runs for the calendar year to the END of January.

For $1100; If you spend a minimum of $1100 incl. GST then you will receive a bonus Lifetime Gold Medallion Pass to any SMCC event at Barrabool! Plus you will receive 2 bonus memberships as above! Again, as an example, a spend of $2200 gets you 2 Gold Medallions (interchangeable with friends), and 4 club annual memberships.

All tiles are available to be bought as 'Business tiles' once you get to the checkout. When you get to the purchase screen, clicking the 'business' option enables extra functions which can give your company great advertising opportunities, and a tax deduction! Corporate tiles rates are only twice the standard tile price, starting at $220 incl. GST, so they are great value. The price doubles automatically when you click the "business' option on the purchase page. For example, choosing one $125 tile for your shopping cart, will cost $250 +GST when you choose 'business' at the purchase page.

Clicking the 'business' option enables extra features, allowing you to upload your company logo, website link, and also enter some information about your company.
Features you get are;

• Your logo will appear on the website front page, which is linked to your website.
• When viewers hover over your tiles on the Wall they will see a fly out with your company name and details.
• Clicking on your tile will bring up a window containing your tile's details.
• Your name will appear on the 2 sponsor's lists, with clickable links. The sponsor's lists are a popular tool for visitors to use when they drop in on the site.

These new lifetime memberships are to commemorate our 'new beginning' at Barrabool.
For people who have a strong commitment to the S.M.C.C. club and Saving Barrabool, we have in place NEW FOUNDATION memberships. These special memberships are $5000. Contact the club direct.
This is a lifetime membership, with all normal membership rights, forever!
New Foundation members have voting rights, and will also be posted on the clubroom honourboard.

Pledged tiles to the value of $5500 (inc. G.S.T.) also qualify. That means you would need to pledge to 17 tiles @$150 or 20 tiles @$125 (remember they convert to double the price when you get to the checkout).

Good news! A reward for all who have helped Save Barrabool! If you already have sponsored a tile on the Big Picture Wall, then you qualify for a base rate membership, without having to pay the 2008 'Save Barrabool' levy. This means you save $100 when joining the club!

Man there's a lot of apathy out there! We may be centered in our own little world trying to Save Barrabool, but there are a multitude of people out there who already do, or will benefit from McAdam Park just being there. More than likely that includes you! For that reason alone, let alone the good feeling you get when you give to a good cause, you should be helping us save this great track; for us and you!
How come? How can we benefit you? Here are some examples;

• National events: Do you like going to the MX? The SMCC are proud to boast having promoted some of the best events ever in this country, such as the standard setting Thumper Nats and Oceania MX. Do you want to see more of these events?
  You won't if we don't Save Barrabool!
• Even if you never come to Barrabool again, sponsoring can mean a simple thank you for past efforts in raising the bar of Australian MX, and incentive for us to keep forging ahead.
• Riding: We are open 3 days a week. How many places can you do that at?
• Visiting riders: We cater for all visiting riders, so if you're travelling and need a track to practice, we can help!

The Excuses. We could write a book with the number of excuses people have come up with for not sponsoring a tile! We are yet to hear a good one. Here's a selection;

• Can't afford it. Bollocks! You ride bikes and you can't afford $100 for somewhere to ride it?
• I might lose my money. No chance. All monies over $100 are available for refund if we don't get the land.
• The club committee will take my money if it folds. The club will not fold, even if we lose the land, we will have to carry on without a track till we can find another home. We are celebrating (we hope!) 75 years this year and no way do we want to let all that history go! (Note: SMCC constitution states all monies go to charity if we ever dissolve.)
• You don't cater for Juniors enough. We do actually cater quite a lot for juniors, and are increasing our junior activities all the time. Just counting, we have 7 club days, Western Region Championships, Ride 4 Kids charity day, 2 'Come and Try' days, about 120 open practice days, a special juniors track for the kids, and we have the SMCC junior development program.
  This program caters for all age kids and abilities and is held on a regular basis at times when the kids have the whole track to themselves and we boast having two level 2 coaches looking after our juniors. The only thing we don't do is a 2 day Open, because they are a pain in the neck!
• That's too much money / you'll never get it! The power is in the numbers! Many drops make a dam! On tile purchase averages so far, we only need about 4000 people to give, and we have filled the Wall! Stop being so pessimistic!!
• I'll get a tile later on. No good waiting till the end! It'll be over before you know it, then it's too late! We need names on the Wall, now! You can pledge to tiles and pay later when we buy the land.
• I'm too tired. Sorry, I was talking to the missus!
• Your club is in another state. See all of the above. Do you want to see the sport prosper by helping out a club that has contributed so much to Australian MX?
• You don't need my money, it'll work out. You're an Ostrich! And selfish to boot! Not giving is making it so much harder for us to muster support. The Wall is like a petition, get your name on it!
